Afterlife and the Astral Plane
Astral Projection is the extension of conscious awareness and body awareness into another type of reality. A popular understanding of the astral plane defines it as where the body, personality and consciousness continue beyond the point of death. Its is not physical and is better compared to the reality of dreams. Many accounts of out of body experiences allow us to have some understanding of this region. People who have astral projected have similar descriptions to include flying, moving through matter, instantaneous movement to other locations, encounters with other beings, and travels to other planets. However peoples accounts of astral travel is not proof of an afterlife.
MATERIALISM or NO GHOST IN THE MACHINE
There are no ghosts. Consciousness is energy manifest from the meat body’s nervous system.
Materialism offers no afterlife. The idea of soul is a mental condition. It is simply a byproduct of brain activity. There is no continuation of the mind/personality after the body dies. Death is cessation of consciousness, awareness, personality and personal history. Consciousness and its phenomenon of self awareness is the result of the body’s nervous system. When the body dies, the nervous system dies and the energy is turned off. It is like turning off the power switch. After the body dies there is no continuation of consciousness. Simply stated. There is nothing at all.
Understanding Nothing...
Nothing cannot be conceptualized as a reality. There is no human experience of nothing. The act of conceptualization makes it into something. No framework can contain a nothing. A nothing is a NO THING. No space, no distance, no object, no up or down, no motion, no vibration. We cannot detect it. The closest we can imagine is being under anesthesia. Since for the materialist since you are the physical body, the body is the sole actor and without a functioning body there is no action. But, we cannot imagine nothing.
However…
A variation of theme includes a total field of consciousness or the sum total of all human mind activity. All bodies produce current in the nervous system that we use to claim ourselves. This claim to a self, or the idea of self is within all people. As long as humans are alive the idea of self continues. We have a collective of self and awareness.
So, then there is a collective; it is called the human population. All humans are part of it and like raindrops we are all made of the same stuff, came from the same place, and end up I the same place. Our individuality is only another survival mechanism, evolved over time for the continuation of the species.
Like a single cell, you have always been in the same field and your death is similar to one cell dying in a body. The human collective is a single “I” composed of billions of little “I”s. The “big I” is a universal and the individual “I’s” are shells that contain the necessary individualization that supports to total “I.”
“I” and “You” are two dimensional idea. When a “little I” dissolves the “Big I” continues. “Little I” is absorbed into “Big I” The total awareness is supreme. You are absorbed into the field. No afterlife; only life. As long as life exists there is no escaping the conditions. You are dissolved back into the mass with the billions all believing they are separate.
II. BEYOND MATERIALISM - THE SPIRIT.
Anything that we might want to call spirit, or soul, or essence can be part of a materialist explanation and may well be cast aside with the death of the body since it is an idea or feeling state that requires a working nervous system. There is no soul other that a central being within the body. A meditator might quiet the mind and feel what could be described as the state of the soul. No chattering, just quiet and feeling. At the point of death, when the body ceases to breath, this mind state may linger for a moment, perhaps timeless,. In its state of calm it requires no future and no future existence. It has nothing to do with any afterlife. It is and then it isn’t but because it feels the oneness with life it surrenders easily: no will, no anxiety, no desire.
Afterlife
Afterlife requires another dimension or another reality that is linked but separate in a way that is beyond the reach of our perceptions. This reality should have many of the trappings and details of this reality, that is, it must seem real. Our present reality is built of familiar objects, sounds, smells, tastes, pleasures and pains. Thus it could be so similar to this reality that we would not know we have shifted from one body to a new body - that is, a vehicle that encloses awareness and feeling.
Dreaming is an alternate reality.
When someone is dreaming they are essentially in an alternate reality. They may or may not know that they are dreaming however it is still another reality full of objects, forms and feelings. Whether or not the brain is designing all of it is another matter and does not negate that it is a reality within waking reality.
Thus we have a model for an alternate reality. This is without question. Everyone dreams and some are better at remembering than others.
While dreaming you have separation of awareness from the environment. You have communication with others. You have emotional responses. You still have an “I” and it is your “I”.
If the dreamer does not know she is dreaming, she will have no concept of a reality outside of her dream reality.
Establishing that we do know of a separate reality makes it easier to posit another reality. Yes the dreamer is dependent on the body, but then the body reality could also be dependent on a second body that is alive within an alternate reality. A visit would not be a proof since all proofs of a 2nd reality must be made within the rules of this reality. My proof that I dream is my memory of it, a memory that is dependent on the physical body. And, the physical experience could just as well be the dream of the 2nd body, and the 2nd body could well be the dream of the 3rd body and on and on.
If I knew of a scientist from one of these higher orders of reality, he might say, “well yes, that might be interesting, however there is a substantial change each time you expand into a new reality shell. The bodies however begin to lose their thickness (density) and begin to interact and blend into other bodies forming larger bodies. Soon enough they will blend into a realm of ONE where identity ceases.”
II. HEAVEN WORLD?
Many who have had the near death experience describe going to another world that for them appears quite delightful. Beautiful scenes with happy people, visits with old friends, pastel clouds. Some describe a dark place with ugliness. I have heard one account where the dying man expresses dismay about his transition. During a deathbed pre encounter he finds the afterlife to be quite the same as this present world. The accounts are compelling evidence and can not be dismissed. Of course the brain interacts otherwise it would never be remembered.
My scientist from the higher realm might describe it this way, “well, at the time of death, the portal is opened and can shock the brain into receiving the information the transitioning being is experiencing from this other region. It is after all, energy and information. The little shock also reanimates the body, and sometimes heals the body. The realization is beneficial to the body and personality as it readjusts.”
I would have to ask this scientist, “What portal?”
He could say, “The portal between dream and wakefulness is sleep. Using your language you imagine a porthole, a doorway, a hatch, even a window. However portals are qualities of energy that filter. This is more akin to your sound devices that alter voltage to give you a sound effect by amplifying and diminishing areas of vibration. A dense vibration has more intersections of waveforms. Thus the portal only allows for a more harmonic flow of vibration. It reflects waveforms that cannot pass into a more refined level. The portal is a threshold region but is not a hole in a skin. It is however to visualize this way because when you pass, you will be visualizing what you have been already visualizing. You will not be able to comprehend the new level, so, you carry with you patterns that you have gathered and developed to build an environment that is most familiar, and if you have in your life been practicing some resemblance of psychic hygiene, you will gain comfort rather than torment.”
“All of you gather thought forms while you are alive. You experience and contain the energy of the experience which is released as an offering to versions of yourself that simultaneously inhabit realms we have discussed previously. Therefor ultimately all offerings are returned to the ONE, which of course we are still in ignorance (that is, the ONE cannot be experienced singularly and therefor is belief).”
“What you describe as death, that transition, IS A PORTAL. I want to be very clear here and not confuse anybody or have them incorrectly visualize. DEATH AND THE PORTAL ARE ONE IN THE SAME.”
“Conception and gestation taken together is also a portal. It is a much longer transition because a body is in formation. Death is quick but more than often, because of the collective fear around it, takes a much longer time. We do not mean the individuals fear but the populations fear. These general fears and attitudes are part of the collective of humanity. A fraction of what you where during any one lifetime is reabsorbed back into this energy field.”
“Every heaven, hell or type of afterlife is fed by the perceiver, however, every version of the afterlife is also a collective that is weaker to the forces of separation that you find yourself in. You maintain your individuality but you are energized by the collective and your reality soon enough becomes part of the collective. Thus, if the collective is within harmony with itself it will transmit this harmony through thought form into a reality. It is pure law of attraction. You both feed and are fed by the range of vibration and subsequent thought formation. You have, as well as your cohorts, developed life information that is most in harmony with the collective.”
“A very wealthy man, who has spent his life building a business and found relief from the stress through golf, will easily be part of a group manifest golf course and will enjoy this version of afterlife swinging his club so to speak. It may be so pleasant he may find it difficult to leave. The golf course with friends was his most harmonious condition while he was alive in his physical body”
“I am saying here that in the collective you manifest your most harmonious conditions, your gold so to speak.”“
“The need for survival and the fear death are dissolved at the death portal. This are only functions of the physical body and are unnecessary once you have ascended through the portal
“I can go on to say that there is no equality in experience and there are many who have undergone this process many many time. Some less than others. You have newbies, novices, and experts. I might go on with this but we will save it for later as categories are not so important. Those with enough practice will form their afterlife while in physical form. There are many ways to do it and no way is wrong. My office recommends that you practice being attentive and building self awareness without guilt producing self judgement, but there are many ways. One way for a few, many ways for many. Enough for now; more later.”
