Determinism vs Free Will - Channeled May 2012

Question for Michael: Do we have free will?
Disclaimer (sort of): Many who channel claim to speak to disembodied spirits. I do not make this claim since I cannot prove it. It is based on faith and belief. However, the meditative state of channeling does offer ease and creativity to writing. It offers a way to change voice and write more freely.

Free will comes only after realization of essence. Free will can only come from essence and only essence can make a true choice. Essence has the overview that the personality does not have. Personality only believes it as free will, or as we have described to you some years ago, personality can only make a meaningful choice when the truth is realized and truth can only be realized through the higher centers. You could also say that realizing truth is the experience of the higher center. The two are the same. What ever happens through the higher centers is true. There is no delusion.

The experience of the higher center is felt. You do not think the higher center through words. The experience of the higher intellectual center is complete silence, the experience of the the higher emotional center is a silent compassion. The experience of the higher moving center is complete engagement in action with no judgement. No thought, only the awareness without desire for outcome.

It is actually not too difficult if you ask for the experience and put it outside the personality. Personality cannot and can never be a higher centered experience. You experience true personality simultaneously however you can have the experience of true personality which is the feeling of contentment in the moment. It is similar but not the same. You are still in a mechanical state because you are interacting the the mechanical world. Realize you are in true personality in the mechanical world and that world will be transformed and you will see it true, without the judgement of false personality.

When you are in the higher centers you make choices from that center. Your choices are essence energized. Are they yours freely? Essence give to you freely, but they come from essence and not from the personality. False personality is mechanical and behaves mechanically. Therefor it only imagines that is has what you call free will.

We again take you to the dream realm. When you are lucid you are aware that you can choose the direction of motion. However when you are not. When you dream normally you dream mechanically and you have little or no awareness of your place in dream space. You just go along with it. You are herded by the images that surround you.

All choices made by personality are driven by past events. Personality cannot pull itself out of its own definition. Personality has defined itself by its history. Your choices as personality are driven by your history. Your choice is determined by your history. To experience free will (what we call true choice) you must ask, ask, ask. It comes from the place inside you that appears separate and outside of yourself. Your personality is the vehicle of this illusion. Your personality is the vehicle of separation. The higher centers are the doorways to that which is inside you always - essence. Ask for essence contact. We remind you again to ask.

Essence: It is believed that there is an essential part of us that is able to transcend lifetimes and dimensions. It is always with us and energizes our consciousness. Many religions have this belief but use different terminology such as soul, or ka. In the Michael Teaching, our personality is something separate from essence. It dissolves after the death of the body.

The Michael Teaching uses a personality system called Overleaves. The center is one of the Overleaves. There are a total of seven centers, MOVING, EMOTIONAL, INTELLECTUAL, INSTINCTIVE, HIGHER MOVING, HIGHER EMOTIONAL, AND HIGHER INTELLECTUAL.
